Gabrielle has been hired by the Seattle Parks Department’s “Street Busker Program” to create her chalk art on the pavement of downtown parks throughout the summer months of 2010. This past weekend (July 8-10) Gabrielle completed her first drawing for the program at Westlake Park, timed to coincide with a live radio broadcast in the park of Chamber Music from the Seattle Chamber Musics Society’s “Music under the Stars” festival.

Gabrielle recreated “The Delphic Sybil” and the “Libyan Sybil,” images from Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel. The crowds of tourists, and locals were appreciative, and Gabrielle looks forward to her next chalk engagement on July 16-18, also to be held in Westlake Park. There will be another live radio broadcast from the Chamber Music Society and KING 98.1 FM on Friday, July 18 at 8PM.
Westlake Park promotes a family-friendly urban atmosphere. Chess games are encouraged on the giant chessboard seen in the background, and children cool off in the “walk-through” fountain.
Here the two Sybils are seen side by side, one already engulfed by the creeping shade.

Gabrielle will be creating new chalk art pieces in Westlake Park every weekend (weather permitting) throughout the months of June-September 2010.

Gabrielle traveled to Norway from May 3 to June 14 to design and execute a “Florentine Room in a private residence. The decoration include trompe l’oeil paintings done in oil and gold leaf stencil. The home, which is currently under construction, is designed to showcase the best of European style craftmanship and fine arts. Gabrielle’s contribution was to the main entrance hall, where her painting decorated a 40 ft high ceiling.
