New Horizons Mural

For the past month, I’ve been working on a very special project with my mural painting students at Antioch University. We partnered with New Horizons ministry to paint a mural in their drop-in center, which provides services to homeless and at-risk youth in the Seattle area. It was an incredible honor to work with New Horizons, meet their community and see their beautiful work they are doing in our city. This was one of those projects that I was sad to see finish.

Women Artists of Seattle Unite.

The Isis Women Arts Festival is a celebration of feminine creativity in Seattle. The event brings together women-identified artists for an evening of music, art and perfomance at Mokedo Gallery. Now in it's 8th year, the festival is an opportunity experimentation and networking within the local community of women artists. I'll be there with my garden of pussyflowers, and I’d love you to join me!

"Confessions of a Former Bully" wins prize at Children's Film Festival Seattle!

There are an estimated 5,400 suicide attempts every day by teenagers in the US. Physical and social bullying is a factor in nearly all of these cases. "Confessions of a Former Bully" is the only children's film which addresses the issue from the perspective of the perpetrator. By understanding the reasons people victimize others, we can address the issue at the root of the problem.
